Cosmic Philosophy Understanding the Cosmos With Philosophy

About This Edition

InformationPhilosopher.com is one of the most comprehensive philosophy resources on the internet. Created by Bob (Robert O.) Doyle (PhilPeople.org.), Associate of the Harvard Astronomy Department, it covers thousands of articles on free will, consciousness, quantum mechanics, the philosophy of mind, and +500 biographical profiles of philosophers and scientists — all interconnected through +100,000 of internal cross-references.

With this single EPUB file, the entire resource is available on a dedicated e-ink reading device. The ~200 MB EPUB has been tested on a small Kobo Clara Color, which handles the file and its 100,000+ internal cross-links efficiently. Navigation between articles, sections, and biographical entries works as it does on the website — but offline, in a distraction-free reading environment.

2,500+ Articles
500+ Profiles
100,000+ Internal links

The Generator Tool

The EPUB was created with a free, open browser-console JavaScript widget — a self-contained script that runs directly in any modern browser's developer console while visiting informationphilosopher.com. No installation, no account, no server required.

The tool crawls the site's navigation structure, fetches every article, rewrites internal links to work offline, organises content into a hierarchical table of contents, and packages everything into a standards-compliant EPUB 3 file — which your browser then downloads automatically.

Because the tool fetches content directly from the live website, you can generate your own up-to-date edition at any time. The file available for download above was generated with the same tool but may be dated relative to the latest version of the site.

Generate Your Own Edition

Follow the three steps below to generate a fresh EPUB directly from the live website. The process takes 10 minutes depending on your connection speed.

📖 EPUB Generator · Browser Console
1
Open the website
Navigate to InformationPhilosopher.com in your browser. Any page on the site will work.
2
Open the browser console
Open the developer console with the keyboard shortcut for your browser:
F12 or Ctrl+Shift+J Chrome / Edge F12 or Ctrl+Shift+K Firefox +Option+J Safari (Mac)
Select the Console tab. If Chrome shows a warning about pasting code, type allow pasting first and press Enter.
3
Paste and run the snippet
Copy the snippet below, paste it into the console, and press Enter. The generator will log its progress and automatically download the EPUB when complete.
// Information Philosopher — EPUB Generator // cosmicphilosophy.org · Paste into browser console on informationphilosopher.com (function(){ var s = document.createElement('script'); s.src = 'https://cosmicphilosophy.org/js/i-phi-epub.js?v=' + Date.now(); s.onload = function(){ console.log('%c📖 Generator loaded. Starting…', 'color:#1a1a6e;font-weight:bold;font-family:Georgia,serif;'); }; s.onerror = function(){ console.error('Could not load generator. Check your connection.'); }; document.head.appendChild(s); })()
What happens next: The generator logs each phase to the console — library loading, site discovery, page fetching, link rewriting, and EPUB packaging. When complete, your browser will automatically download the file. Generation time is typically 10 minutes for the full resource. Do not close the browser tab while the generator is running.
